Kale is healthy – like all leafy greens but why is it recommended more than broccoli or lettuce?

Kale is called a superfood for a reason. Of all the superfoods you could eat, this leafy is loaded with the most nutrients.

It strengthens your immune system, has zero fat, and minimal calories (a cup of kale = 36 calories) It is high in essential vitamins (Calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin K to name a few) and antioxidants (cooked kale offers more iron per ounce than beef!).

Quick Kale-Cooking Tips

  • Store in the fridge in a plastic bag to retain moisture. Toss into a salad
  • Can be steamed or boiled
  • Try braising instead of boiling – add some butter in a pan – sauté some chopped onion, garlic chilli – add the kale and some lemon juice till tender.
  • Add to soups or in risottos, pastas, and pizzas!
